Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), a 2020 presidential contender, said Sunday that he wouldn’t give former President Barack Obama a “grade” on his presidency.
Speaking to ABC News’s “This Week” host Jon Karl, Sanders conceded that Obama gets an “A+” in his book compared to President Trump.
“Barack Obama was a very, very good president,” Sanders said.
“What grade would you give him?” Karl asked.
“I’m not going to give him a grade,” the Vermont senator continued. “Compared to the guy you have in the White House now, I’ll give him an A+.”
“Empire” actor Jussie Smollett receiving major support from Fox over his alleged “assault” is a stark contrast to ABC’s treatment of Roseanne Barr over a series of tweets.
Smollett received the endorsement despite police reports claiming he orchestrated being the victim of a racially and homophobically-charged assaulted by Trump supporters.
“[Smollett] remains a core player on this very successful series and we continue to stand behind him,” said a joint statement from 20th Century Fox Television and Fox Entertainment.
Two Women’s March leaders repeatedly refused to condemn Nation of Islam (NOI) leader and prominent antisemite Louis Farrakhan during an appearance on ABC‘s talk show “The View” on Monday.
Queried about her presence at a NOI Savior’s Day event last yearwhere she posed for a picture with Farrakhan, that she later posted on social media with a caption calling Farrakhan the “GOAT” or “Greatest Of All Time,” Tamika Mallory sought to relativize the issue, saying, “I think it’s important to put my attendance, my presence at Savior’s Day, which is the highest holy day for the Nation of Islam, in proper context.”
“You know, as a leader, as a black leader, in a country that is still dealing with some very serious unresolved issues as it relates to the black experience in this country, I go into a lot of difficult spaces,” she continued.
“I wrote a piece immediately following the beginning of this controversy, talking about, wherever my people are, that’s where I must also be,” she said. “So I also go into prisons, where there are people who have been convicted of heinous acts. And I am trying to help people to move from wherever they are today, and build that unity to bring them to a place where we live in a more fair and equitable society. And I think that that work is not easy for everyone to understand, but it’s certainly work that I’m committed to and everywhere I go is difficult.”

According to recent court filings, President Trump’s former personal attorney Michael Cohen told federal prosecutors that he was directed by the then-candidate to pay hush money to two women to help sway the outcome of the 2016 election.
Even though Cohen admitted he had previously lied under oath to Congress, ABC and NBC spent part of their Sunday morning news programs suggesting it was all over for the Trump administration.
“We now have a president of the United States who has essentially been implicated in a felony by his own Justice Department,” boasted ABC anchor Dan Harris to chief global affairs correspondent Martha Raddatz during Good Morning America. “Democrats are reportedly talking about impeachment. Does that seem likely to happen to you, impeachment?”

A mother used a single blast from a shotgun to remove the head of a 53-year-old pedophile after allegedly catching him in the act of assaulting her 12-year-old daughter.
The man, a registered sex offender, died immediately.
ABC News 14 reports that the woman heard “a commotion” in her Morgantown, West Virginia, home, so she grabbed her shotgun and went to investigate. Upon reaching her daughter’s room, she allegedly saw the man “struggling with her daughter.”
The man then turned toward the mother, “at which point she fired directly into his face, blowing off most of his head.”
Former CIA Director Leon Panetta said Sunday morning that the Democrats should not get ahead of themselves when it comes to trying to impeach President Trump.
“I think the most important thing that the Democrats could do is to allow [special counsel] Bob Mueller to complete his work,” Panetta told ABC’s “This Week.”
President Trump unleashed a tweet salvo directed at the “dishonest” mainstream media, specifically targeting the heads of CNN and NBC News, whom he christened “Little Jeff Z” and “Andy Lack(y),” respectively.
Trump asserted that both men are unfit for their positions, and reiterated his charge on Thursday morning that a large portion of corporate media is an “enemy of the people.”
“The hatred and extreme bias of me by CNN has clouded their thinking and made them unable to function,” Trump wrote in his first tweet of the day. “But actually, as I have always said, this has been going on for a long time. Little Jeff Z has done a terrible job, his ratings suck, and AT&T should fire him to save credibility!”

Among them, nominating conservative judges and recent White House commitments to defend religious freedom. But he also talked about what he thinks is at stake in the upcoming 2018 midterms, and said those accomplishments could come under attack “quickly and violently” if Republicans lose.
“You’re one election away from losing everything that you’ve got,” Trump told the room.
Trump said if Republicans lose, “they will overturn everything that we’ve done and they’ll do it quickly and violently.”

A former co-star is defending comedian Roseanne Barr after she was fired from her show and accused of being a racist.
In an interview with the British Sunday Times, actor John Goodman came to the embattled actress’s defense, saying he believed her tweet, in which she joked about former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett’s likeness to a Planet of the Apes character, was taken out of context.
From the Sunday Times:
“I know for a fact that she’s not a racist,” he said, before suggesting that he was not entirely supportive of ABC’s decision to cancel the sitcom. “I’ll put it this way, I was surprised at the response,” Goodman said clearly choosing his words carefully. “And that’s probably all I should say about it.”
Comedian Tim Allen mocks ABC for cancelling “Last Man Standing” in a sneak preview for the newly revived show’s seventh season on Fox.
Published on YouTube Tuesday, the short video shows Vanessa Baxter, played by Nancy Travis, telling her conservative husband Mike, played by Allen, pointing out a “fox” in the distance.
“I know somebody’s gonna be happy you said that three times,” a smiling Allen says in return.
